Evaluation Research Network

Developing and implementing new and effective strategies and technologies for the assessment and evaluation of individuals and programs. The Network, as a collaborative association of individuals having a common interest, formed to provide mutual assistance and helpful information, while seeking to bring the resources of its members to bear on pressing questions of educational reform efforts in their myriad forms.

Established in the spring of 2006, the Evaluation Research Network at Drexel University is responsible for conducting rigorous research and evaluations concerning the impact of various types of educational programs, synthesizing and disseminating information from evaluation and research, and providing technical assistance to its members and stakeholders. Working in a contractual relationship, the Network provides evaluative services that are designed to the specific needs of the client.

Mission
The mission of the Evaluation Research Network is to provide continuous, high-quality evaluation support by developing, capturing, and communicating usable information for clients, key stakeholders, and other audiences. Through the provision of expert guidance on matters relating to assessment and evaluation, the Network brings accountability in the achievement of program objectives by identifying and disseminating the lessons learned from experience and by framing recommendations drawn from evaluation findings.

Vision
The Network, as a collaborative association of experienced individuals, envisions an increase in the scope, depth, and volume of evaluative services. It seeks to engage in continuous professional discovery through research and reflection to determine and implement what works.

Specific aims include: empowering our members through mentoring; acting as passionate advocates on behalf of the evaluation community; disseminating relevant research; fostering constructive discussion; cultivating interdisciplinary efforts to examine educational questions, and building stronger ties between the academic and practitioner communities. Additionally, the Network seeks opportunities to provide forums for discussion, disseminate research and analysis, and cultivate ties with local, regional, and national policy communities.
